The people behind Hurbig Ventures
Conrad Sonderegger
After his first position in New England, Conrad completed his studies and worked at Kistler Instrument Corp. in Amherst, NY. His first startup attempt was partially successful. In 1995, he successfully established Kistler in China. From 2002, he led an agency network and from 2011 served in sales and business development as sales director of the Sensor Division at Kistler Instrumente AG. In 2017, Conrad founded a small investment company, which was renamed Hurbig Ventures in 2023. Since 2022, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Kistler Group and on the boards of Spendit AG and Flux Mobility AG.
Michael Hering
Michael studied International Business in Innsbruck and gained international experience in Australia and the USA. Early on, he became co-founder of Icon-s – consulting by students, now Austria's largest student consulting firm. After positions at UBS in Zurich in Wealth Management and Strategy & Business Development, he joined Schwartzkopff Partners in 2014. There, his focus was on company valuations, investment analysis, and startup investments. Today, he brings this experience to Hurbig Ventures.
The Name Hurbig
The name of our company is derived from the 546-meter-high hill above the village of Buchberg in Canton Schaffhausen. Although Hurbig is not very high, it is easily recognizable from afar due to its forested and distinctive angular shape, blending pleasantly into its surroundings.
